Pet lovers in Bakewell are wanted to provide loving homes to some desperate animals.
The RSPCA shelter in Derby is busting at the seams at this time of year with lots of animals that are in need of a new home.
There are currently 42 cats, 26 dogs, 12 rabbits, four birds, eight ferrets and many small animals such as gerbils at the shelter.
Amongst them is two-year-old female Siberian Husky-Akita cross, Simba, who the shelter have been trying to rehome for longer than the others.
She is described as a friendly, highly intelligent and energetic dog who loves to run and go on long walks.
She also loves playing, being groomed and generally having a fuss made out of her.
Simba has lived in a household with children previously but needs to go to a home where any children are aged over 15 years and the adults are mature.
She is housetrained and knows various basic commands, but will need an experienced owner who understands the characteristics and needs of both Akitas and Siberian Huskies.
Buster, who is pictured with Simba, has also been looking for a new home for too long now.
