Warnings given to ‘nuisance’ off-road bikers in Derbyshire

Derbyshire Rural Crime Team conducted patrols along with officers from the safe neighbourhood and roads policing teams in Renishaw, Eckington and Killamarsh to tackle nuisance off road bikes in the area.
A number of riders stopped and spoken to and their bikes checked over according to police – who said while all the bikes stopped were ‘in order’, warnings were given to riders about using waste land without landowner’s permission and causing a ‘nuisance’ to local residents.

Hide AdPolice advised riders who plan to travel into Derbyshire to ride their bikes to ‘expect’ to be stopped, spoken to and dealt with if they are riding illegally or causing a disruption.
Officers reminded residents in Derbyshire who use their off-road bikes illegally to expect to be stopped again and even have their vehicles seized if they ride anti socially.
