Nearly 50 jobs created at flagship Derbyshire site
Marston’s Inns and Taverns selected Markham Vale, off M1 junction 29A near Chesterfield, to build its new pub restaurant called The Little Castle.
Councillor Anne Western, leader of Derbyshire County Council, said: “Marston’s is the latest in a string of recent developments at Markham Vale which continues to move from strength to strength.

Rachel Newnes, acquisitions manager from Marston’s Inns and Taverns, said: “We are extremely excited about our latest pub which we hope will build a great reputation locally.
“We are happy to be opening the doors in time for Christmas.”
The council has invested £77million to reclaim the former mining area at Markham, between Chesterfield and Bolsover, with the long term aim of creating 5,000 jobs.

Hide AdWorking with development partner Henry Boot Developments Limited, the council has helped to attract 28 businesses to the site to date and create 565 jobs.
A further 300 jobs have already been announced with the construction of new buildings underway.
Located next to McDonald’s, the pub restaurant offers an extensive food and drinks menu, including daily carvery, in a family-friendly setting.
