Derbyshire beauty queen takes on 14,000ft charity skydive for cancer charity
Ms Derbyshire Galaxy Josie Jackson took on the daring stunt on Tuesday, September 7, in a bid to raise money for The Christie NHS Foundation Trust.
The 27-year-old, who lives in Clay Cross, said that she had to reschedule the skydive from last month due to the weather but that when it could finally take place, she was raring to go.

"Everyone was amazing and it was a brilliant day. I loved it and was grinning the whole time because I just love things like that. I love to have new experiences – and especially doing for The Christie, it just made it 100 times more important and special.
Josie has so far raised more than £600 for the skydive, which took place at Langar Airfield in Nottingham.
The cause is one chosen by the UK Galaxy Pageants and all funds raised this year will help the charity redevelop its existing CT department at The Christie Hospital in Manchester.

In the mean time, she also hopes to carry on her charity work for The Christie Charity and is looking to set up a online platform to showcase the importance of the English language.
Josie, who has a degree in English Language and Communications, said: “I’m hopefully putting together a platform to start raising awareness about having a good and strong ability to use the English language; focusing around literacy, English skills like reading, writing, speaking and how that can have a positive influence on your self-confidence, your self acceptance, and your mental wellbeing.”
She added: “I’ve been blown away by the donations [for the skydive], especially those on Just Giving as there’s been quite a lot of anonymous donations so I can’t thank the people.
