The proposals, for a vacant unit at 10 Station Road, Whittington Moor, have been lodged with Chesterfield Borough Council by John Norton through a company called The Beer Station Ltd.
If approved, the plans will see the frontage of the shop, as well as the inside, be refurbished to allow it to become a bar.

According to documents, the business would operate from 4pm to 10pm Monday to Friday and from midday to 10pm on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays.
It will reportedly create one full-time job and five part-time roles, the equivalent to four full-time positions.
There are also no plans to install parking specifically for the new business which will instead rely on on-street parking outside the shop and the free public car park 60 metres away.

"The work needed to convert it to a drinking establishment has not started. Drawings are enclosed to show this."
Under plans, the former shop front will be transformed into the bar and main bar sitting area, with further seating areas installed in the former kitchen and store areas towards the rear of the property as well as bench seating at the front.
